Mrs. Museveni, in a speech given during the Senior One selection exercise closure at the Uganda Manufacturers Association show grounds in Lugogo, stated that the issue of homosexuality in Uganda is a major concern and must be addressed promptly.

She emphasized that the expansion of this vice must not be allowed in the country. The State Minister for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo, read the speech on her behalf.

Mrs. Museveni called on teachers to safeguard against the abuse of sex education by incorporating negative ideas that do not align with Ugandan culture and urged them to contact her office if faced with any challenges.

Parliament recently expressed concerns over the increasing homosexual tendencies in schools. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, stated that some schools have become recruitment centers for the gay community.

Charles Bakkabulindi, who represents workers in Parliament, claimed that certain NGOs are promoting homosexuality in schools through teachers. He said measures need to be taken to curb this growing vice in schools.
