Pastor Joseph Sserwadda, a member of the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda has said that the elections cannot be postponed because some of the candidates emerged unopposed while others have invested a lot of money in the campaigns. Sserwada has also distanced himself from the recent statement issued by the Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga advising government to postpone the elections due to the political tensions and the raise in COVID-19 infections.
He went further asking for more prayers and fasting for Uganda during this current political situation in order to have a smooth transition.
