Dr Joseph Serwadda, the presiding apostle of the Born Again Faith in Uganda, during a press conference in Najjanankumbi, Entebbe road, on Friday launched the ‘Orientation Guide For Conducting Worship Services During Covid-19.’
In his address, Dr Serwadda said the guidelines are designed to offer “special skills” to Pastors and other leaders. He observed that they are in harmony with the Standard Operating Procedures laid down by the Ministry of health.
“The Born Again Faith today launches the Orientation Guide For Conducting Worship Services During Covid-19, developed to prepare our member Churches and affiliated fellowships, to conduct services till the temporal ban on regular religious worship is lifted,” he said.
“We ask the Government to seriously consider an early decision on the re-opening of our worship services. God has helped Uganda. It is about time we exhibited our gratitude in open praise and unhindered worship.” he added.
The religious leaders agreed with the decision of Cabinet and the President to temporarily close normal services. For the last 4 months, we have studied the situation, controlled the agitation and pressure to open places of worship till now. We believe that it is now partly safe to come out of the lockdown and begin, albeit slowly, to get used to the new standards that have been set – Dr Serwadda
