The growth and popularity of these awards ceremonies demonstrate the vibrant and dynamic nature of the Ugandan Christian community.
The Royal Gospel Music Awards Uganda is an annual awards ceremony that celebrates excellence in the gospel music industry in Uganda. The awards were first held in 2021 by Popular by Wesley aka King of Radio, a media icon and presenter on Spirit Radio and Tv, and have quickly become one of the most prestigious gospel music awards ceremonies in the country. The awards feature various categories such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Gospel Event of the Year, among others. The Royal Gospel Music Awards is organized by the Royal Gospel Music and Events company and seeks to promote gospel music in Uganda and provide a platform for gospel artists to showcase their talent and reach a wider audience.
VIGA Awards . The VIGA Awards Uganda is an annual awards ceremony that recognizes and celebrates excellence in gospel music and ministry in Uganda. The awards ceremony was first held in 2010 making them the oldest Awards among the Christian fraternity organized by Prince Nike Nyombi. VIGA Awards took a break for about 5 years on which the organizer announced a comeback in 2014 with an event that happened at Freedom City.
The Vine Awards Academy is another popular Christian awards ceremony that celebrates excellence in gospel music and ministry. The awards ceremony was first held amidst the lockdown making a record of the first awards done online in Uganda these have become a major event in the Ugandan gospel music industry. The Vine Awards Uganda features various categories such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Gospel Event of the Year, among others. These Vine Awards Academy will be happening for the 3rd time organized by Shadrack Kuteesa under Vine Entertainment Group
