Valentine’s day was well celebrated at Shilloh city Church Mukono even though the celebrations happened a day after valentines.
Each year, Shilloh city holds an event called ‘Love reign’ to share love with the youth in their church. This year’s theme was “Endless love” taken from 1Corinthians 13.8- 10.
‘Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears’ 1Corinthians 13.8- 10.
The youth leadership at shilloh church chose the theme to help young people find the meaning of Agape love in a church setting, people need to know that Christ has an endless love for them despite their mistakes. The same love Christ showed to the world is the very love Christians ought to give back one to another.
This years’ Love reign celebration was graced by the Worship house pastor Wilson Bugembe who is also known for his song Sala edilo.
In his Sharing during this celebration, Pr Bugembe became emotional as he explained the history behind his Sala ediro song.
In it he has a line where he prophesied marriage upon himself, the proclaimed pastor said he got disappointed when the woman he wanted to marry was married off by someone else.
In his speech, Pastor Bugembe encouraged singles not to rush into relationships but always seek the will of God.
“If the relationship fails, know that it was God’s will and God will get you the best partner.”
He later took the audience through his songs on which they danced with joy.
It was a red carpet event coupled with music, meals and Ice-cream.
Before the end of the event, Mr Love and Ms Love Reign were crowned. These are individuals who demonstrated an outstanding character, entirely supported the love reign event and also had the best outfit for the day
Patricia Mirembe one of the youth ministers at Shilloh city encouraged other churches to hold such social events because they help young people have strong grounding in church and not seek for love and pleasure outside Christ.
Shiloh city is found in Mukono district,Nabuti Hill just next to UCU university in Uganda. It is one if the churches with young energetic and enthusiastic youth in Mukono. The church is led by pastor Godfrey
