Rebecca Namitala alias Lady Bezo a popular media personality has moved to Kigali, Rwanda where she will be heading programming at Royal FM. Lady Bezo whose radio career spans a decade will also be co-hosting the ‘Drive Time’ with Humphrey. The show airs Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 8 pm.
Until her new roles in Kigali, Bezo worked with 92.7 Bob FM as host of the three-hour ‘Country Breakfast Show’, Hot 100fm, Channel 44, Spirit FM, Bob FM, and Kampala FM
In an announcement released by the radio, Lady Bezo said she was proud to start working in the city Royal FM. He said that “we are preparing radio programs that I like to prepare for the development of Royal FM as one of the media working in Rwanda.
The director of Royal FM, Anthony Kamau, said: “it is very interesting that Lady Bezo has come to the radio station as a presenter”. He added that “ we want to increase the strength of our staff because it will help us to give good talks to those who speak the English language”.
Lady Bezo will join forces with Jackie Lumbasi former Capital FM breakfast host who left Kampala for Kigali four years ago, Rebecca Umuhire, and Aisah Cyiza to be appointed as the Program Manager.
While in 2020, Bezo celebrated her 10-year anniversary in the media sector working as a radio presenter, voice-over artist, and ambassador for Africell a telecommunication company.
She says the Royal FM listener should expect “more entertaining, educative and totally engaging programming” which rhymes with the station’s tagline The Heartbeat Of Kigali.
As exciting as the Kigali job is, Bezo confesses the decision to relocate from Kampala where she has built a formidable name for herself over the last 20 years as one of the most acclaimed media personalities, was difficult.
“To be honest, I’m struggling with the decision to work outside of Uganda every single morning and it took me more than 40 days to give them (Royal FM) my honest opinion about the offer,” as told to a local media reporter.
Bezo launched her radio career in 2002 as a presenter of a morning show on Kampala FM (99.6) where she was for three years before she moved to Hot 100 (now defunct) as host of the evening show ‘Hot Cruise’.
We are delighted to welcome @LadyBezo at RoyalFM. We strongly believe that working with you will be enjoyable and together we will achieve our goals. #943RoyalFM #RwOT #Rwanda @MusingaDaziz @krissvicc @DannyTuyisenge1 @AissaCyiza @UmuhireRebecca6 @JackieLumbasi @kaishaashley1 pic.twitter.com/54Nt2Q8gMQ
