Gospel Sensation Esther Chungu becomes first Zambian artiste to perfom at the Global Citizen Music Festival in New York, USA. At the show Esther now wife to famous gospel artist Pompi shared the stage with hitmakers Chris Martin and Coldpaly who played instruments for her.
Esther Chungu performed in front of thousands of music fans at this annual Poverty advocacy event. She consequently shared the stage with other world stars like Billie Elish, Ed Sheeran who graced this year’s event at Central Park.
“Esther Chungu I am so proud of you for showing the world that being true to your identity in Jehovah opens doors to your destiny. You are valuable because you are a misfit and there is definitely a value for identifying yourself differently and being proud that you are. I love you fiercely my queen. Coldplay and Global Citizen we are so grateful for the opportunity” wrote Pompi.
The Global Citizen Live is a 24-hour live concert featuring Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Lopez, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, The Weekend, Andrea Bocelli, Duran Duran, and dozens of other artists performing at locations across the globe.
The initiative is part of Global Citizen’s 2021 global campaign, a ‘Recovery Plan for the World’. The Recovery Plan focuses on five key objectives: ending COVID-19 for all, ending the hunger crisis, resuming learning for all, protecting the planet, and advancing equity for all.
