A very profound young evangelist, prayer warrior, Veterinary student in his third year breathed his last on 4th July 2020.
Emmanuel Tegu (Now deceased) was a Makerere University student pursuing a bachelors degree in veterinary medicine. He has been known for sharing the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ with colleagues and filled his Facebook timeline with only messages that edified others in Lord.
On Sunday 28th June, Tegu was attacked by Men in Uniform as he moved from St Augustine Chapel in Makerere University. He only identified these men as part of the Local Defense Unit enforcing Curfew time (As he narrated to his mother while on his sickbed).
Since March 20th 2020, the government of Uganda enforced curfew time of 7pm in a bid to curb down the spread of COVID19.
It’s been reported that several Ugandan citizens have been tortured by Local Defence Units s as they enforced Curfew time, a behaviour that President Museveni warned against. In his speech about people who move past curfew time, Mr Museveni asked LDU to peacefully detain the culprits at police stations.
In a statement published on social media platforms by Uganda Police Force, SP. Patrick Onnyango denied the allegations that the deceased was killed by LDU, although and considered the case to be a homicide incident which is still under investigation.
The Late Emmanuel Tegu was a church member of Christ’s Heart Ministries international who submitted to Bishop Isaiah Mbuga as his spiritual father. He has been a committed church member always leading intercession prayer sessions during prayer meetings.
The Entire Christ heart community has been saddened by the untimely demise of a colleague as many of them shared there grieve and eulogies on social media through a hashtag #JusticeForTegu.
